Chief Master Sergeant STERLIN G. WILSON

Chief Master Sergeant Sterlin G. Wilson is the Command Chief of the 113th Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He is the Senior Enlisted Leader and the principal advisor to the Commander on all matters influencing the readiness, morale, and welfare of the enlisted force of the wing.

Chief Wilson began his military career in December 1995 when he enlisted in the Air Force as a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC) Apprentice; graduating from technical training in May 1996.  He was stationed at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, where he was assigned to the 377th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES). Chief Wilson completed his initial enlistment in 1999 and transferred to the Inactive Ready Reserves. He joined the New Mexico Air National Guard in the summer of 2002 as a HVAC Journeyman. After a short time with the New Mexico Air National Guard, he transferred to the D.C. Air National Guard HVAC shop. He was deployed in the Fall of 2006 to various locations in Iraq as a member of a RED HORSE team in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In November 2010, he was assigned to be the first sergeant of the 113th CES. In January 2012, he was selected as the Contracting Office Superintendent and received Top Graduate honors in Technical Training at Lackland AFB, Texas. In 2014, Chief Wilson was handpicked to join the United States Property and Fiscal Office as the Chief of Procurement Policy where he was responsible for ensuring the proper acquisition compliance of all Construction, Services, and Commodities requirements for the District of Columbia National Guard. In 2016, he became the Chief Enlisted Manager of the 113th CES at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.

His most recent assignment was the 113th Mission Support Group Superintendent, 113th Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He was the principal advisor to the commander on the morale, welfare, and professional development of more than 300 enlisted personnel.
