Mission
Our mission is to be Capital Guardians who provide our nation fighter, airlift and support forces capable of global employment; to provide air sovereignty forces to defend the Nation's Capital; to employ our forces with mastery and lethality, if required; and to provide the community with support and enhance it through good will. 

To prevent our enemies, be they nation states or non-state adversaries, from attacking our fellow Americans and adversely impacting our way of life.

To respond aggressively and quickly to natural disasters or public insecurity situations to protect life and property and quickly restore the normality to the lives of those affected.

To develop and train highly motivated, capable, and respected Guardsmen who will accomplish our mission with integrity and leadership

To serve and enrich our community and develop the trust and respect of our neighbors.

Vision
To remain a world class unit, known throughout the military as a premier Wing. We will develop and recognize our diverse unit of warriors. We will stay mission ready, flexible, and capable of accepting and performing new and challenging missions.

Strategy
Strategy is about choices - by focusing on our mission, our vision and our strategic goals and objectives, we will make choices in our actions, our priorities and our allocation of time, effort and resources which support our strategic goals. 

As the foundation of our strategy, we have developed three priorities which are derived from Air Force and Joint Headquarters D.C. guidance:

The continuance of the Capital Guardian legacy of proven excellence and outstanding mission capability utilizing airpower to achieve our National objectives

Recapitalizing our aircraft, equipment, and facilities to optimize our utility and to better meet future challenges

Developing and caring for our Capital Guardians and their families
